GREENSBORO, N.C. - Virginia senior midfielder Brittany Kalkstein was named Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 28, after scoring four goals and picking up two assists, in addition to setting the ACC's all-time draw controls record.
Kalkstein registered a pair of goals in 12th-ranked Virginia's 17-8 domination of 14th-ranked Loyola (Md.) and added two more scored and a pair of assists, including the game-winner, in a 14-13 edging of sixth-ranked Syracuse in an upset. Additionally, Kalkstein tallied 15 draw controls over the two games to become the league's all-time leader.
The Baltimore, Md., native has tallied five goals and four assists this season, and leads the team with 19 shots taken, five ground balls, and 24 draw controls.
The ninth-ranked Cavaliers return to action for 7 p.m. tilt against second-ranked Maryland on Friday, March 5.
