Tar Heels Beat No. 1 Northwestern, 18-16
The UNC women's lacrosse team, ranked No. 2 in the nation, beat No. 1 Northwestern, 18-16, on Sunday afternoon at Lakeside Field, ending Northwestern's 41-game winning streak and handing the Wildcats their first home loss in 59 games. Northwestern hadn't lost a game in nearly two years, since a defeat at the hands of Penn on Apr. 27, 2008. Carolina won its seventh game in a row and improved to 13-1 this season. Northwestern fell to 12-1.

Laura Zimmerman led Carolina with career highs of five goals and seven points in the game. Corey Donohoe had three goals and two assists and Becky Lynch had two goals and three assists for the Tar Heels. Megan Bosica scored three goals, Kristen Taylor had a goal and an assist, Jenn Russell had a goal and two assists, Kara Cannizzaro had two goals and Mia Hurrin scored once.

Katrina Dowd led Northwestern with seven goals and one assist. Shannon Smith had two goals and three assists for the Wildcats and Alexandra Frank had three goals and one assist.

Boston College Tops Brown In Double Overtime, 9-8
The Boston College lacrosse team topped Brown University 9-8 in double overtime on Sunday afternoon in Providence, R.I.

The Eagles improve to 10-4 while Brown falls to 7-6.

Boston College and Brown traded goals early on as junior Kristin Igoe notched the opening goal at 21:14, freshman Brooke Blue responded at 16:46 (with and assist from Igoe) and senior Peyton Killeen with merely one second remaining in the half. The Eagles and Bears went into halftime with BC leading 3-2.
