Efficient Offense Leads Tar Heels Past Oregon, 22-5

CHAPEL HILL - Laura Zimmerman had four goals and two assists and Kristen Taylor finished with four goals and one assist as the University of North Carolina women's lacrosse team dominated Oregon on Friday evening at Fetzer Field, defeating the Ducks by a 22-5 score. With the victory, Carolina improved to 4-0 this season. Oregon dropped its first decision of the season, falling to 2-1.

Carolina scored its 22 goals on 32 shots, including 13 first-half scores on 17 first-half shots.

Jenn Russell tallied three goals and an assist for the Tar Heels, Corey Donohoe scored three goals and Becky Lynch had two goals and an assist. Kaitlyn Messinger scored twice for Carolina and Megan Bosica, Lauren Feusahrens, Jessica Griffin and Lucy Hayes had one goal apiece. Sarah Kuonen had an assist for UNC.

BC Lacrosse Defeats Canisius, 14-5

NEWTON, Mass. - The Boston College lacrosse team grabbed a 14-5 win over Canisius in Newton, Mass. this afternoon.

Freshman Brooke Blue helped get the Eagles off the ground by scoring the first two goals of the game for BC, finishing the day with six. She currently leads the team with 11 goals this season.

Junior Kristin Igoe and seniors Mary Stinson and Lauren Costello added tallies for the Eagles before Blue recorded her third goal of the game with seconds remaining before halftime. BC would take a 5-0 lead into the second half.
