GREENSBORO, NC – Duke’s Lindy Duncan, a senior from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., is the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Golfer of the Month for April after leading the Blue Devils to a second-place finish in a power-packed field last weekend at the Ping/ASU Women’s Invitational, the ACC announced Tuesday.
Duncan shot a five-under-par 54-hole score of 211, earning a tie for 5th place and leading the Blue Devils to a second-place finish against a field that included 11 members of Golfweek’s Top 25. As a team, Duke shot a 54-hole total of 854, 10 strokes under par, trailing only 3rd-ranked Alabama.
Duncan’s effort was her fourth Top 10 finish this year and improved her national ranking to 8th in the Golfweek national rankings. In finishing in a tie for 5th at the Ping ASU Women’s Invitational, she finished ahead of 2nd-ranked Stephanie Meadow of Alabama and 5th-ranked Tiffany Lua of Southern California.
Duncan was the 2012 ACC Women’s Golfer of the Year and the Ping NGCA National Division I Player of the Year and the Golfweek National Player of the Year.
Duke will next be in action at the 2013 ACC Women’s Golf Championship, which will be held this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.
