GREENSBORO, N.C. – Duke freshman Lindy Duncan, from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. has been named Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Golfer of the Month for February.
To open the spring season, Duncan registered a three-day total of 216 with rounds of 67, 76 and 73 at the Northrup Grumman Regional Challenge played at the Palos Verdes Golf Club in Los Angeles, Calif. Her round of 67 was a career best in the first round. Her finish of fourth was also a career best for the Florida product. She was the only Duke golfer to finish in the top 10. In Duncan’s final round, she registered her first collegiate eagle. As a team, Duke finished tied for sixth against one of the top fields in the nation-Arizona State, UCLA, Southern California and Pepperdine, who are all ranked in the top 10.
In her second tournament of the spring, the Arizona Wildcat Invitational, played at the Arizona National in Tucson, Ariz., Duncan finished tied for 27th in tough weather conditions with rounds of 77 and 74 for a total of 151. She totaled her second collegiate eagle on her final of the tournament. As a team, Duke placed fifth.
