GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The No. 10 ranked Florida State women's golf team came up three strokes short of Michigan State and the Seminole record book as they finished in second place in the team standings as play in the Lady Gator Invitational at the Mark Bostick Golf Course at the University of Florida came to a close. The Seminoles were bidding to win their third consecutive tournament championship which would have set a school record with three consecutive tournament championships.
The Seminoles, who placed two golfers in the top five of the individual standings, finished with an 871 team score as compared to the Spartan's 868 team score. Michigan State was six strokes better than Florida State in the final round to overtake the Seminoles who led through the first and second rounds and during the majority of the third round.
