Thirteen ACC Student-Athletes Earn NFHCA All-America Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. ( – Thirteen Atlantic Coast Conference field hockey student-athletes earned All-American honors from the National Field Hockey Coaches’ Association, the organization announced Tuesday. The total is the most for any conference in the nation.

Of the 16-member first team, six are from ACC schools with three from North Carolina, two from Virginia, and one from Maryland. There are four student-athletes from the ACC on the second team, and three on the third team. All six ACC field hockey programs are represented on the All-America teams.

National runner-up North Carolina led with four All-Americans. Kelsey Kolojejchick was named to the first team for the fourth time in her career, only the third player in ACC history and the first from North Carolina to accomplish the feat. Caitlin Van Sickle earned her third career recognition, and sophomore Charlotte Craddock and freshman Emily Wold are All-Americans for the first time.

Three Maryland student-athletes garnered All-American accolades, led by senior Megan Frazer on the first team. Senior Harriet Tibble and junior Jill Witmer represented the Terrapins on the second team.

Virginia’s Paige Selenski is the 11th student-athlete in ACC and third in Virginia history to be a four-time All-American. Cavalier teammates Michelle Vittese and Elly Buckley earned their third career recognition.

Wake Forest sophomore Anna Kozniuk was named to the All-America Third Team for the second straight year. Boston College sophomore Emma Plasteras (second team) and Duke junior Paula Heimbach (third team) both were named to All-America teams for the first time.
