GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Georgia Tech junior guard Tyaunna Marshall and Clemson forward/center Nyilah Jamison-Myers been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, as announced Monday afternoon by the conference office and voted on by the Blue Ribbon Panel.
Marshall matched a career-high 28 points in 28 minutes of action to lead the Yellow Jackets to a 76-49 win over Alcorn State. Marshall shot a blistering 80.0 percent (12-of-15) from the floor, and added five rebounds, three assists, three steals and one block. Marshall’s hot shooting afternoon was a part of a Georgia Tech effort that saw it shoot a season-best 47.0 percent on the day and snap a three-game losing skid.
Jamison-Myers collected her first career double-double with a 14-point and 13-rebound effort in a 74-55 win over Radford. The rookie from Orangeburg, S.C., also added three blocks and one assist to her stat line, while shooting 71.4 percent for the game.
The weekly honors for Marshall and Jamison-Myers are their first of the season.
ACC women’s basketball action continues Tuesday with Virginia hosting Coppin State.
