Defensive Pressure Propels Deacons To 77-54 Victory Over Nevada

Wake Forest scored 36 points off a season-high 33 turnovers and cruised past visiting Nevada 77-54 Monday afternoon at the Joel Coliseum.

The win was the seventh-straight at home for the Deacons who improve to 7-6 on the season. Nevada drops its third-straight and is now 5-7 overall.

Wake Forest junior point guard Chelsea Douglas broke out of a minor shooting slump to lead all scorers with 22 points. That was the second-most points in her career behind a 23-point effort in the season-opener against Coppin State.

A total of four Demon Deacons scored in double-figures as senior Asia Williams notched 13 points and Lakevia Boykin and Dearica Hamby each finished with 12 points. Williams also dished-out six assists while Hamby had a team-high six rebounds.

Mykala Walker gave the Deacons solid minutes off the bench as she finished with six points, five rebounds and a career-high five steals.
