BALTIMORE, Md. - Lynetta Kizer scored a season-high 21 points, Tianna Hawkins added 17 points and 12 rebounds and Maryland (No. 22/23) won its seventh straight game, 79-61 over Loyola of Maryland on Tuesday night.
The Terrapins (8-1) took control by ending the first half on a 32-7 run and won despite the absence of second-leading scorer Alyssa Thomas, who sat out with a knee laceration.
Erica DiClemente led the Greyhounds (2-6) with a career-high 22 points. Miriam McKenzie added 12 points and Alyssa Sutherland had 10.
Maryland is 17-3 all-time against the Greyhounds and has beaten their in-state rivals 11 straight times.
CORAL GABLES (AP) - Riquna Williams scored 23 points and grabbed six rebounds to help Miami beat No. 11 Georgetown 81-72 in overtime Tuesday night.
Shenise Johnson added 17 points and six steals, and Stefanie Yderstrom had 14 points and four assists for the Hurricanes (8-1), who won their seventh straight.
Miami outscored Georgetown 13-4 and went 8-for-8 at the free throw line in overtime to snap the Hoyas' three-game win streak. Georgetown (7-2) hit only 2 of 9 from the floor in the extra period.
