DURHAM, N.C. - Tricia Liston had quite the season debut for Duke.
The junior guard had 21 points with nine rebounds, five steals and four assists, helping the No. 3 Blue Devils to a 84-45 rout of Presbyterian on Saturday.
Haley Peters and Chelsea Gray added 21 and 12 points respectively for Duke (1-0). Gray also had six assists and six steals.
"Tricia has been doing this so much," said Duke coach Joanne P. McCallie, who did not make players available after the game citing the quick turnaround for Sunday's 2 p.m. home game with Iona.
PHILADELPHIA - No. 5 Maryland found itself in a tough battle at Saint Joseph's Saturday and a few late game misses helped the Hawks edge the Terps, 50-49.
Alyssa Thomas had 16 points and 15 rebounds while Laurin Mincy added 14 points for the Terrapins (2-1), who opened the season with a 39-point victory over Mount St. Mary's and a 43-point win over Loyola.
Chatilla van Grinsven scored 18 points and Saint Joseph's stunned No. 5 Maryland 50-49 on Saturday.
Maryland, a regional finalist in last season's NCAA tournament, couldn't shake the Hawks, even after building a 47-38 lead with 9:10 remaining.
