BLACKSBURG, Va. - Maryland (15-6 overall, 3-4 ACC) defeated Virginia Tech (12-8, 2-4) on the road, 60-44, to break a three-game slide. Senior Lori Bjork led the Terps with her second 20-point performance of the season with a season-high 22 points.
Maryland led at the half, 29-22, after hitting four consecutive three-pointers, three from Bjork and one from freshman Jackie Nared. The Terrapins have recorded four or more treys in their last six games. Sophomore Lynetta Kizer hit just the third three-pointer of her career to kick things off against the Hokies.
Both teams struggled to get points on the board at the start but the Terps managed to hold Virginia Tech to just 21.9 percent shooting in the first 20 minutes of play. Maryland was 12-of-25 from the field for a 48.0 clip.
