Four ACC Wrestlers Receive NCAA At-Large Bids

INDIANAPOLIS — The NCAA announced the 44 at-large selections for the 2013 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships on Wednesday, and four Atlantic Coast Conference wrestlers are among  those that received bids.

North Carolina’s Joey Ward (133 pounds), NC State’s Nijel Jones (165), Duke’s Conner Hartman (197) and Virginia Tech’s Derrick Borlie (197) were among those added to the 330-athlete field that will compete for NCA  team and individual titles March 21-23 at Des Moines, Iowa.

The selections, coming four days after the conference filled 30 automatic qualifying slots at the 2013 ACC Championship, increases the record number of ACC wrestlers competing in this year’s NCAA Championship to 34.
