GREENSBORO, N.C. – Maryland 197-pound senior Taylor Hudson has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Wrestler of the Week for the third time this season after defeating one fellow nationally-ranked opponent and scoring a pair of pin-fall wins in Sunday’s Wendy’s Duals at Ashland, Ohio.
The third-ranked Taylor outlasted 11th-ranked Logan Brown of Purdue for a 4-3 decision in his first match of the day. The Pennington, N.J., native followed up by pinning Ashland’s Jake Ewing in 1:07 and Kent State’s Casey Newberg in 2:10.
Taylor’s performance helped the ninth-ranked Terps to three dual wins, including a 24-16 victory over 14th-ranked Kent State. Taylor, who was also named ACC Wrestler of the Week on Nov. 24 and Dec. 8, is 29-2 on the year, with 19 of those wins coming by pin.
