NC State won six and seven matches in a dual doubleheader vs. Davidson and Campbell on Tuesday, defeating the Wildcats 35-16 and the Camels 35-15. Both matches were held at Buies Creek.
The matches marked the end of the 2009-10 regular season for NC State, which lifted its record to 13-8 with the wins. Sophomore 125-pounder Mike Moreno, sophomore 157-pounder Colton Palmer (two pins), junior Ray Ward (major decision and a technical fall), sophomore 174-pounder Quinton Godley (two pins) and freshman heavyweight Eloheim Palma all won two matches for NC State.
The first match featured six pins, five of them in the first period, and four of them by Wolfpack wrestlers. Heavyweight Eloheim Palma, Brett Farina (157), Quinton Godley (174) and Christian McClean (197) all recorded pins for the Pack, which won seven of the 10 matches, including the last six in a row.
The Wolfpack won six of the first seven bouts vs. Campbell and was never in trouble in the team scoring.
