Wyoming won the last five matches, two by fall and one by major decision, Tuesday night to record a 26-15 come-from-behind victory over NC State in Laramie, Wyo.
The Wolfpack got solid wrestling from its lower weights, winning four of the first five bouts and jumping to a 15-4 lead after Colton Palmer’s 8-4 decision over Mikah Kadera at 157 pounds. Shane Onufer got the Wyoning comeback started with a second-period pin of Ray Ward at 165, and NC State was unable to stem the tide from there.
Seventh-ranked Joe LeBlanc pinned Jonathan Becker at 184 pounds to give Wyoming a 19-15 lead with two matches remaining, and the Cowboys won both, getting a major decision from Alfonso Hernandez at 197 and a decision from heavyweight LJ Helbig.
