NC State Wrestling Drops Two In Lincoln

NC State returned the the dual portion of the 2009-10 schedule Sunday and dropped matches in Lincoln, Neb., 23-16 to North Dakota State and 31-10 to 12th-ranked Nebraska. The Wolfpack fell to 2-4 in dual matches with the loss.

The Wolfpack lost four of the first five bouts to the Bison, winning only at 133 by forfeit, before rallying at the end to win three of the last four matches to make the final score close. North Dakota State clinched the team victory, however, when Drew Ross handed Andrew Tumlin an 8-4 decision at 197 pounds. Freshman heavyweight Eloheim Palma's 8-0 major decision over Joe Arthur cut the final margin to seven points.

Ray and Bobby Ward scored all 10 of NC State's points in the loss to the Cornhuskers. Bobby Ward scored a 14-4 major decision over Chris Hacker at 149, and Ray Ward pinned James Nakashima at 2:02 at 165.
