GREENSBORO, N.C. – Florida State senior Jean-Yves Aubone has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year and heads up the sport’s 2010 All-ACC Academic Team, as announced today by Commissioner John D. Swofford.
Aubone, a senior from Miami, Fla., is a three-time member of the ACC Academic honor roll and is eligible to be included again this year. The sport management major earned Dean’s List honors at FSU in 2010 and is a two-time member of the Men’s Tennis All-ACC Academic Team.
The Seminoles No. 1 singles player, Aubone was named the ACC Player of the Year in 2009 and is a two-time All-America selection. The three-time All-ACC Player was one of 13 ACC student-athletes to compete in the men’s singles competition during the 2010 NCAA Championships.

Gomez, Singh, Mirzadeh, Wake Forest’s Iain Atkinson and Virginia’s Houston Barrick joined Aubone in qualifying for NCAA play in singles, doubles or as doubles alternates this past season. Gomez, Singh and Atkinson earned All-America honors.
The 2010 Men’s Tennis All-ACC Academic team includes 13 student-athletes who have earned the honor on at least one previous occasion, including four-time honoree Dylan Arnould of Duke and three-time honorees Singh of Virginia, and Gomez and Ryan Smith of Georgia Tech.
