GREENSBORO, N.C. - Duke freshman Henrique Cunha has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for the second time this season after wins over top-10 opponents in singles and doubles during the Blue Devils’ match against No. 4 Texas last Friday.
In doubles, Cunha teamed with Reid Carleton for a 9-7 win over No. 4 Josh Zavala and Dimitar Kutrovsky at the No. 1 spot in the order to clinch the doubles point for Duke. Cunha earned the only singles win for the Blue Devils, knocking off No. 7 Dimitar Kutrovsky in straight sets 7-5, 6-1.
Cunha now owns team-highs in both singles and doubles victories. Cunha and Carleton are now 24-4 in doubles with three wins over top 10 teams. Cunha is 19-5 in singles with eight singles wins against ranked foes, including two against top-10 players.
