GREENSBORO, N.C. - Clemson freshman forward K.C. Onyeador and Wake Forest sophomore forward Andy Lubahn were named Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Soccer Co-Players of the Week after helping their teams to unbeaten marks last week.
Onyeador came off the bench in both of Clemson's matches last week to lead his unranked Tigers to a 1-0-1 record, including a 3-1 win over NC State. The rookie from Sterling, Va., scored the tying goal against Wofford earlier in the week, and then registered one goal and an assist on the game-winning score against the Wolfpack.
Lubahn scored the first hat trick of his career in leading Wake Forest to a 4-3 win over Boston College on Oct. 30. The hat trick was the first of his career and the first for a Wake Forest player since Zack Schilawski scored three goals at Virginia Tech on Oct. 2, 2009. The sophomore from Erie, Pa., scored the last three Wake Forest goals of the game, including two in the span of 58 seconds and the eventual game-winner en route to his fourth game-winning goal of the season.
Wake Forest returns to action on Tuesday, traveling to Davidson for the Demon Deacons' final non-conference game of the season, while Clemson is back on the field on Friday, battling ACC foe North Carolina.
The 2010 ACC Men's Soccer Championship will once again be held at the WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C., beginning Tuesday, Nov. 9. Seedings and match-ups will be announced on Sunday, Nov. 8 (late evening).
