GREENSBORO, N.C. – Maryland senior forward Jason Herrick was named Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week after helping his fourth-ranked Terrapins to a 2-0 record last week, including a 3-2 edge of ACC foe Clemson and a 3-0 win over non-conference opponent Lehigh.
Herrick pushed Maryland to 4-1-1 in ACC play with a game-winning header on Oct. 16 to lift the Terps past a determined Clemson squad, 3-2, at Ludwig Field. The senior, who is a finalist for the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award, also tallied two assists as the Terps ousted Lehigh, 3-0, on Oct. 12. One of Herrick’s assists was aided to the eventual game-winner by freshman Sunny Jane.
As a MAC Hermann Trophy candidate, Herrick boasts a team-high six goals and has also chipped in three assists.
Maryland will next play host to Colgate tonight at 7:30 p.m.
