ACC Players of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Duke senior goalkeeper James Belshaw has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week following a pair of shutouts in a 2-0 week for the Blue Devils.

It is Belshaw’s second ACC Player of the Week nod of his career. He also earned the honor on Sept. 7, 2010.

Not only did Belshaw help the Blue Devils to earn shutouts versus Georgia State (3-0) and Clemson (2-0), but he iced the win over the Tigers with a penalty kick goal in the 71st minute. It was the Nottingham, England native’s first career goal. Belshaw totaled seven saves for the week, including six in the Blue Devils’ first league win of the season on Sept. 14.

For his efforts, Belshaw was also named to TopDrawerSoccer’s Team of the Week on Monday.
