#ACCMLax Boasts Three of Four Teams in #NCAAMLax Semifinals
May 27, 2011
The ACC has been represented in the past seven consecutive NCAA Men’s Lacrosse semifinals and nine of the last 10.
The ACC makes up 75 percent of the Final Four field this year – the second time in NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship history that the ACC has sent three of the four final contenders. The league did so in 2005 (Duke, Maryland & Virginia), when Duke and Maryland also had to face one another in semifinals action.
The ACC has made up at least 50 percent of the Final Four Men’s Lacrosse field on 20 occasions.
Overall, the league makes its 59th, 60th and 61st appearances in the national semifinal contests in 2011.
The ACC will make its second consecutive showing in the NCAA Championship game and 26th overall, while a win would give the league its 12th overall national Men’s Lacrosse title.
