#ACCMLax Boasts Three of Four Teams in #NCAAMLax Semifinals

May 27, 2011

  • The ACC has been represented in the past seven consecutive NCAA Men’s Lacrosse semifinals and nine of the last 10.
  • The ACC makes up 75 percent of the Final Four field this year – the second time in NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship history that the ACC has sent three of the four final contenders. The league did so in 2005 (Duke, Maryland & Virginia), when Duke and Maryland also had to face one another in semifinals action.
  • The ACC has made up at least 50 percent of the Final Four Men’s Lacrosse field on 20 occasions.
  • Overall, the league makes its 59th, 60th and 61st appearances in the national semifinal contests in 2011.
  • The ACC will make its second consecutive showing in the NCAA Championship game and 26th overall, while a win would give the league its 12th overall national Men’s Lacrosse title.
