GREENSBORO, N.C. – Duke sophomore Jordan Wolf and North Carolina junior R. G. Keenan have been named Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, for the week ending on Monday, Feb. 27.
Wolf led all Duke scorers with eight goals and two assists in a 2-0 weekend for the No. 10 Blue Devils. Wolf netted his first hat trick of the season as Duke beat No. 17 Penn, 12-8, and grabbed four ground balls against the Quakers. Two days later against Jacksonville, the native of Wynnewood, Pa., added a career-high five goals and two assists for seven points, tying a career-best performance. His five goals are the most by an ACC player this season, and he leads the league with nine goals and 14 points.
Keenan sparked a comeback win at Navy over the weekend as the Tar Heels scored four unanswered goals to grab the victory, the largest fourth quarter rally since April 13, 1996 for a North Carolina squad. The midfielder scooped up 11 ground balls and won 18 of 20 faceoffs, including all five in the fourth quarter. The 18 wins were the second-most in his career, and the winning percentage was a single-game best. It is the second weekly award of the season for the native of Perry Hall, Md.
