North Carolina carded a 3-under 285 in the final round to win the UNCG Bridgestone Golf Collegiate with a 31-under 833 total. The tournament was played October 23-24, Forest Hills Country Club, Greensboro, N.C. Michael McGowan, a sophomore from Southern Pines, N.C., placed third individually with a 13-under 203 total. Virginia Tech finished third as a team (842, -22) in the same tournament and was led by sophomore Mikey Moyers (Stanardsville, Va.) who tied for fourth place individually (206, -10).
Boston College finished ninth out of twelve teams at the Mission Inn Fall Intercollegiate, played October 22-24, Las Colinas, Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
Georgia Tech won the championship title at the US Collegiate played October 24-26 at the Golf Club of Georgia in Alpharetta, Ga. The victory was a tournament and school-record 27 shots for a 54-hole total of 28-under 836. Junior James White (Acworth, Ga.) secured the individual title with a 12-under 204, breaking by four strokes the tournament record set by Oklahoma State's Trent Leon in 2008. Three other ACC teams finished in the top 10 with Virginia, Wake Forest, Duke and Florida State placing fifth, sixth, seventh and tied for ninth respectively. Clemson sophomore, Corbin Mills (Anderson, S.C.) made the first hole-in-one in five years by a Clemson golfer as the Tigers finished 12th in the field of 15 teams.
