GREENSBORO, N.C. - Georgia Tech's Chesson Hadley and Duke's Adam Long have been named Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Co-Golfers of the Month for April.
Hadley, a senior from Raleigh, N.C., claimed medalist honors at the 2010 ACC Men's Golf Championship, played April 23-25 at The Old North State Club in New London, N.C. Hadley led wire-to-wire for a two-shot victory over Will Collins of Virginia, posting rounds of 69-66-71 (206, -10) and extending his streak of under-par rounds in the championship to eight. He led his Georgia Tech team to its fourth ACC title in five years. In the Wolfpack Intercollegiate, played April 9-10 at NC State's Lonnie Poole Golf Course, he shot a 228.
Long, a senior from St. Louis, Mo., posted three top 20 finishes including a first-place showing at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate (214, +1). He placed 10th at the ACC Championship, (212,-4) to become just the second player in Duke history to post four top-20 finishes at the ACC Championship. His seven-under-par 65 in the opening round of the ACC Championship set a new school low round record in the event. Long posted a career-best seven-under-par 64 in the second round of the Administaff ASU Invitational, played April 3-4 at the Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga. He finished the month of April a combined eight-under-par in three tournaments.
