Duke's Julian Suri Named ACC Men's Golfer of the Month for February

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Duke’s Julian Suri has been named Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Golfer of the Month for February.

Suri, a junior from St. Augustine, Fla. fired a career-low 11-under 205 en route to claiming individual medalist honors at the 36th annual John A. Burns Intercollegiate at the Palmer Course at Turtle Bay in Kahuku, Hawaii. Suri posted a seven-under 65 in the opening round and followed up with back-to-back rounds of 70 to lead the tournament wire-to-wire and claim his second career victory.

At the John Burns Intercollegiate, played February 15-17, Suri led the tournament in birdies (15) and par 4 scoring (-10). His opening round 65 is tied for the fourth-best round in Duke history, while his 11-under 205 is the fourth-lowest tournament in Duke history.

Suri was named Golfweek Player of the Week after capturing the individual title at the Burns Intercollegiate.

The ACC Men’s Golfer of the Month for February included tournaments played January 1 through February 29, 2012.
