Rehoboth Beach Spring Invitational
REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - The Terrapins reclaimed their crown at the Rehoboth Beach Spring Invitational with an 11-over-par 579. Sophomore John Popeck led Maryland at the tournament again finishing tied for second with a one-under-par 141.
Host school University of Pennsylvania came in second, three strokes behind the Terps with a 581 (293-288). Delaware's Justin Martinson thrived throughout the course with a nine-under-par 133 (67-66) for individual honors.
The Terps remained the clear leader after the second round with a 290. They were the only team to have two consecutive team scores of 290 or lower and the only team to come under the 580 mark. Last season Maryland went 12-over-par with a 296, playing only one round, for the tournament title.
