CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – This year marks the eighth-consecutive year that the Atlantic Coast Conference has participated in the World Vision’s “Gifts-in-Kind” Program, which allows the league to donate its runner-up championship gear to those in need in third world countries. The league has donated every year beginning with the first ACC Football Championship Game in 2005.
The ACC donates over 600 items annually, including the runner-up gear from the Football Championship Game, Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments and Baseball Championship.
World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. World Vision serves close to 100 million people in nearly 100 countries to provide emergency assistance to children and families affected by natural disasters and civil conflict, work with communities to develop long-term solutions to alleviate poverty and advocate for justice on behalf of the poor.
2012 Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship: The 2012 Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game will be played at 8 p.m. on Dec. 1 at Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium and will feature the Atlantic Division Champion Florida State against the Coastal Division Champion Georgia Tech. Tickets for the general public are on sale. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN.
