ACC Championship Starts Week Long Celebration with Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony Uptown

Charlotte, N.C. (theACC.com) - The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) will join in Uptown Charlotte's Holidays in the City festivities for the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Thursday, December 1 to begin at 6 p.m. The event is scheduled to be held at The Square, located at the intersection of Trade and Tryon Streets and will feature the 12 league mascots along with holiday music, dance, strolling performers and singers, and Santa Claus. All 12 mascots will ride in a trolley around the city leading up to their arrival in Uptown Charlotte.

About the 2011 Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game: The 2011 Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game will be played December 3, at 8 p.m. at Charlotte's Bank of America Stadium and will feature Atlantic Division Champion Clemson against Coastal Division Champion Virginia Tech.
