Tree Lighting Ceremony Starts ACC Championship Game Celebration

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – The Atlantic Coast Conference will join in Uptown Charlotte’s Holidays in the City festivities for the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 29, which begins at 5:30 p.m. The Charlotte Center City Partners event is scheduled to be held at The Square, located at the intersection of Trade and Tryon Streets and will feature the 12 league mascots along with holiday music, dance, strolling performers and singers and Santa Claus. All 12 mascots will ride in a trolley around the city leading up to their arrival in Uptown Charlotte. The ACC’s participation in the Tree Lighting Ceremony will be the first of many events leading up to Saturday’s Football Championship Game to be held at Bank of America Stadium.

2012 Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship: The 2012 Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game will be played at 8 p.m. Dec. 1 at Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium and will feature the Atlantic Division Champion Florida State against the Coastal Division Champion Georgia Tech.  Tickets for the general public are on sale.  The game will be nationally televised on either ABC or ESPN.
