This Week in ACC Football: Week 2 - September 11

After posting a 10-2 nonconference record on the first weekend of the season-the first time the ACC has recorded 10 triumphs on a weekend-Week Two of the Road to Charlotte features a total of 10 games with 11 ACC schools in action and a trio of ACC teams meeting an opponent for the first time since playing them in a major bowl game, two of which were BCS National Championship Games... Coach Randy Shannon's 12th-ranked Miami Hurricanes, led by QB Jacory Harris, travel to 2nd-ranked Ohio State for the UM's first contest against the Buckeyes since the 2003 BCS National Championship Game in the Fiesta Bowl... The game will be nationally televised by ESPN (3:40 pm)... Coach Jimbo Fisher's 17th-ranked Florida State Seminoles, led by QB Christian Ponder, head West to face the 10th-ranked Oklahoma Sooners in their first meeting since the 2001 BCS title tilt in the Orange Bowl... The Seminoles and Sooners will be televised regionally by ABC and to the rest of the country on ESPN2 (3:30 pm)...And Coach Paul Johnson's 15th-ranked Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, led by QB Joshua Nesbitt, will travel to Kansas to face the Jayhawks for the first time since the two teams hooked up in the 1948 Orange Bowl...The Jackets and Jayhawks will be nationally televised by Fox Sports Net (12 pm)... The Kansas-Georgia Tech game is the first of two ACC games this Saturday which will be nationally televised by FSN... Later, Virginia, led by QB Marc Verica and new head coach Mike London, will face 16th-ranked Southern California in Los Angeles (FSN, 10:30 pm)... The weekend also includes a matchup of sophomore quarterbacks who will each be making only their second career start in the first ACC game of the year... Duke, led by QB Sean Renfree opens league play against Wake Forest, led by QB Ted Stachitas (ACC Network) in a 12 noon contest at BB&T Field in Winston-Salem... This game will also mark the debut of the ACC Network, which will televise a minimum of 12 conference football games this fall... Coach Tom O'Brien's NC State team, led by QB Russell Wilson, will also face a tough non-conference foe, meeting UCF in a 7:30 pm game at Bright House Networks Stadium in Orlando which will be televised by CBSCS... 13th-ranked Virginia Tech, led by QB Tyrod Taylor and TB Ryan Williams, hosts James Madison in a 1:30 pm contest ( at Lane Stadium... Boston College, led by sophomore QB Dave Shinskie, will host Kent State in a 3:30 pm contest at Alumni Stadium that will be nationally televised by ESPNU... Presbyterian College faces its second ACC school in as many weeks, as Clemson, led by QB Kyle Parker, hosts the Blue Hose in a 3:30 game at Memorial Stadium (, led by QB Jamarr Robinson and TB Da'Rel Scott, hosts Morgan State at Byrd Stadium (, 6 pm).
