12 Days of ACC Football: Georgia Tech

Aug. 23, 2010

In preparation for the 2010 football season, the Atlantic Coast Conference will unveil the "12 Days of ACC Football" beginning on August 16th. The teams will be unveiled each midday through August 27 based on predicted finish and alternating divisions, first Atlantic, then Coastal. Once again this year, each team's preview will be written by that school's RepresentACC.com Campus Correspondent. Each team page will also include a preseason video and preview information. Today's feature is Georgia Tech.

Despite being crowned ACC Champions eight months ago, Georgia Tech has embraced the underdog role this season. The loss of four very talented players to the NFL, including former ACC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year Jonathan Dwyer and Derrick Morgan, coupled with a challenging schedule has led experts to pick the Yellow Jackets to finish 3rd in the Coastal Division. Yet the return of 14 starters and 20 seniors gives Coach Paul Johnson, whose team went 11-3 season, a reason to believe that this could be his deepest and best team he has had during his three years at Tech. Offensively, the Ramblin' Wreck will look to thrive once more from the play of quarterback Joshua Nesbitt. The hiring of former Virginia Head Coach Al Groh as defensive coordinator should also help shore up a defense that was much maligned last season.
