In preparation for the 2010 football season, the Atlantic Coast Conference will unveil the "12 Days of ACC Football" beginning on August 16th. The teams will be unveiled each midday through August 27 based on predicted finish and alternating divisions, first Atlantic, then Coastal. Once again this year, each team's preview will be written by that school's RepresentACC.com Campus Correspondent. Each team page will also include a preseason video and preview information. Today's feature is North Carolina.
The North Carolina Tar Heels have bright hopes for football in 2010 despite an NCAA investigation attempting to cast its cloud over the season. Coming off back-to-back 8-5 seasons and returning 18 starters on offense and defense this year, Tar Heel fans, coaches and players have high expectations, and rightfully so. With Butch Davis posting a 0-6 record in his first 3 years against rivals Virginia and NC State (games in which UNC were hefty favorites the last 2 years), a 10-win season seems well within the range of possibility. QB T.J. Yates believes this is the year the Heels will end that 0-6 skid and get over the hump as an ACC threat.
