Atlantic Coast Conference Unveils 2010 ACC Football Theme Song 'LOUD'

July 30, 2010

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Atlantic Coast Conference unveiled the league’s 2010 football season theme song at the annual ACC Football Kickoff in Greensboro on July 26. The event opened its Sunday evening dinner with an action-packed and understandably loud music video, highlighting last year’s ACC football accomplishments.

The song “LOUD,” performed by Nashville songwriter and recording artist Bridgette Tatum, will air throughout the season on Raycom Sports broadcasts, debuting in the ACC’s first league contest - Duke at Wake Forest on Sept. 11.

Tatum is a South Carolina native who was raised on the tent revival brand of soul-shaking gospel. The twang-talking football fanatic moved to Nashville and worked her way up to the honky-tonks on Broadway and a regular Friday night gig at the Star Café in White’s Creek.

“I am so thankful to have this opportunity to sing a song for ACC football fans,” said Root 49 recording artist Tatum, whose current single, “That’s Love Y’all,” just debuted at #51 on the Billboard Indicator chart and is steadily rising. “Being raised in the Carolinas and living in Nashville, the energy around ACC football is terrific, and I only hope that I can bottle a fraction of that rockin’ excitement in my music.”

Tatum will travel to several ACC games throughout the season, performing at local clubs as well as tailgate gatherings for alumni and football fans.

A download of this year’s ACC Football theme song “LOUD” is available on www.theACC.com/LOUD. The site also offers fans a chance to watch the music video, which was filmed on July 8 in Nashville’s 12th and Porter by ACC Advanced Media and Raycom.

Fans who visit the site will have the opportunity to register for the “Represent ACC Sweepstakes,” a unique chance to win prizes related to the 2010 Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship on December 4 in Charlotte, N.C., the Orange Bowl, which is the “Home of the ACC Champion,” as well as all other seven league partner bowl games.

Tatum and the ACC are convinced that football fans and music fans share the same excitement. The song “LOUD” will be featured throughout the 2010 football season and will culminate with a live performance by Tatum at FanFest of the sixth annual ACC Football Championship in Charlotte.

Last year, the ACC featured the song “Ain’t Gonna Stop” by Warner Bros. recording artist James Otto as the identifying sound of the 2009 ACC Football season.
