GREENSBORO, N.C. – Duke’s Ryan Kelly has been named ACC Player of the Week and the Blue Devils’ Austin Rivers earned ACC Rookie honors following their outstanding performances this past week.
Kelly was named the EA Sports Maui Invitational MVP after averaging 17.0 points and 4.7 rebounds per game as sixth-ranked Duke improved to 15-0 all-time at the Lahaina Civic Center with wins over Tennessee, No. 15 Michigan and No. 14 Kansas … the Raleigh, N.C., junior scored 17 points in each of the three games, while knocking down seven 3-point field goals and going 16-of-18 from the foul line for the week.
Rivers was named to the EA Sports Maui Invitational All-Tournament Team after averaging 16.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game in three wins. Reaching double-figures in all three games, including his first career 20-point game against Michigan, the Winter Park, Fla., native made two three-point field goals in each game and finished the week 6-of-14 (.429) from 3-point range.
