Six ACC Players Named to Wooden Award Preseason Top 50

The Atlantic Coast Conference had six players on the John R. Wooden Award Preseason Top 50, the Los Angeles Athletic Club announced on Thursday. Duke and NC State each had two players on the list while Florida State and North Carolina had one apiece. ACC players on the Wooden Award Preseason Top 50 list are as follows:

Lorenzo Brown, Jr., NC State
One of three Wolfpack players to start all 37 games a year ago ... became the first NC State player since Chris Corchiani in 1990 to lead the ACC in steals (1.8) ... finished second in the ACC in assists (6.3), third in assists to turnover ratio (1.98:1) and fifth in minutes played (34.3) ... played 31 minutes or more in 32 games ... had 28 games with 10-or-more points and finished second on the team in scoring (12.7).

Seth Curry, Sr., Duke
Earned third-team All-ACC honors a year ago after finishing second on the team and 13th in the ACC in scoring (13.2) ... led the ACC and was 22nd nationally in free throw percentage (.873) ... one of two Blue Devils to average over 30 minutes per game in 2012 ... had 22 double-figure scoring games a year ago, including four outings with 20 or more points ... in two years with the Blue Devils, is shooting .408 from behind the arc (128-of-314) and .837 from the charity stripe (170-of-203).

C.J. Leslie, Jr., NC State
Earned second-team All-ACC honors as a sophomore in 2011-12 after leading the Wolfpack in scoring (14.7), blocked shots (54) and finishing second in rebounding (7.3) ... averaged 16.5 points, 8.2 rebounds and shot .571 (40x70) from the floor in the Wolfpack’s six postseason games in the ACC and NCAA Tournaments ... led the team in scoring on 15 occasions, including eight times in February and March ... scored 10 or more points 26 times, including 16 in a row to close out the season ... sixth in the ACC with eight double-doubles.

James Michael McAdoo, So., North Carolina
Averaged 6.1 points and 3.9 rebounds in 38 games (3 starts) as a freshman in 2011-12 ... scored in double figures six times with a season-high 17 against Vermont in the second round of the NCAA Tournament ... averaged 10.0 points and 4.8 rebounds over the last eight games of the season ... averaged 11.8 points and 4.0 rebounds in UNC’s four NCAA Tournament games.

Mason Plumlee, Sr., Duke
A third-team All-ACC selection as a junior in 2012 ... was third in the ACC in double-doubles (12), tied for third in rebounds (9.2) and tied for fifth in blocked shots (1.6) ... a CoSIDA Academic All-America and a member of the 2012 All-ACC Academic team ... tied for third in the ACC with 16 games of 10-or-more rebounds ... over the last five games of the season averaged 13.6 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.2 blocked shots while shooting .667 from the floor.

Michael Snaer, Sr., Florida State
A two-year starter who earned second-team All-ACC honors a year ago after leading the team and finishing 10th in the ACC in scoring (14.0) ... also led the team in minutes played (30.4) and free throw percentage (.846) ... averaged 14.6 points and 3.6 rebounds in ACC regular season play ... made 67-of-166 (.404) from behind the arc ... one of four returning ACC players with 1,000-or-more career points (1,071) ... had 27 double-figure scoring games a year ago, including seven outings with 20 or more points ... has a team-high 77 career starts.
