C.J. Leslie's third-career double-double, a 14 point, 11 rebound effort, led the way as NC State rolled Alabama A&M 82-51 Tuesday at the RBC Center.
Leslie corralled 10 rebounds in the first half alone as the Wolfpack (8-4) opened up an eventual 22 point halftime lead to pull away from the Bulldogs (3-6).
Scott Wood led all scorers with 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting, going 4-of-6 from beyond the arc.
Wood entered the game looking to bounce back from a poor performance against Delaware State, the only time all year he had been held without a three-point field goal.
Ryan Harrow and C.J. Williams joined Wood and Leslie in double-figures. Williams's 10 points came on perfect 4-of-4 shooting. Harrow contributed a team-leading six assists to go along with his 14 point performance.
Leslie McDonald scored 14 points to lead a balanced North Carolina offense in a 78-55 win over Rutgers on Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden.
Justin Watts added 10 points for the Tar Heels, who have won five of their past six games.
For one of the rare times in recent history, North Carolina arrived at an out-of-state game on the day of the contest. The Tar Heels were supposed to come in Sunday, but the New York area was hit by a blizzard that dumped nearly two feet of snow on the ground.
That forced North Carolina (9-4) to change its plans and the Tar Heels traveled Tuesday, catching an early morning flight. It didn't seem to matter as they began the game with a 14-2 run and never looked back.
