NEW YORK (AP) - Forward Terrance Shannon scored 15 points - 11 in the final 13:45 - and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Florida State to a 73-66 victory over Saints Joseph's on Saturday night in the championship game of the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic at Barclays Center.
Okaro White added 16 points for the Seminoles (3-1) while tournament MVP Michael Snaer had 14. Shannon had six points as Florida State closed the game on a 10-6 run after the Hawks (2-1) had closed within 63-60 with 4:47 to play.
Ronald Roberts had his second double-double in as many days, finishing with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Carl Jones finished with 13 points. The Hawks' leading scorer the past two seasons had half of their four 3-pointers as they struggled from beyond the arc.
CHARLOTTESVILLE -- In the final seconds Saturday, the ball came to Justin Anderson near the basket, and the high-flying freshman could have thrown down his fourth dunk of the game at John Paul Jones Arena.
The 6-6 Anderson instead chose to dribble the ball back out and let the clock run down, a decision that pleased UVa's coaching staff. Neither Anderson nor the Cavaliers had anything left to prove at that point.

ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands - Iona made its first nine shots and raced out to a 22-3 lead seven minutes into the game, as the Gaels knocked off Wake Forest 94-68 at the Paradise Jam on Saturday evening at the UVI Sports and Fitness Center on the island of St. Thomas.
Wake Forest (1-2) struggled out of the gate and could not withstand the hot shooting of Iona (2-1), as the Gaels steadily built their lead to as much as 37 (48-11) in the first half. The Deacons trailed 54-24 at the half.
Madison Jones, who made his first career start, led the Deacons with 10 points, three steals and two assists. Travis McKie had 13 points and seven rebounds, and C.J. Harris added 10 points.
Devin Thomas finished with nine points and seven rebounds, while Chase Fischer turned in five points and a team-best three assists. Arnaud William Adala Moto scored seven points and had two assists.
