Nine From ACC Named To 2013 Louisville Slugger Preseason All-American Teams

GREENSBORO, N.C. ( – Nine Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Players have been named to the 2013 Louisville Slugger pre-season All-American baseball teams, selected by Collegiate Baseball newspaper.

The ACC’s contingent includes a pair of first-team selections from NC State. The Wolfpack’s Carlos Rodon, the 2012 ACC Pitcher and Freshman of the Year, is joined by infielder Trea Turner.

North Carolina’s Kent Emanuel and Georgia Tech’s Buck Farmer were named to the second team as starting pitchers. The Florida State starting pitching tandem of Brandon Leibrandt and Mike Compton were named to the third team. Third-team position players include Clemson second baseman Steve Wilkerson, North Carolina third baseman Colin Moran and Georgia Tech outfielder Brandon Thomas.

The season begins for all 12 Atlantic Coast Conference teams on Friday, Feb. 15, and conference weekend series action begins on Friday, March 8.
