Six From ACC Named To 2012 NCBWA Division I Freshman All-American Team

Dallas (NCBWA) - Six Atlantic Coast Conference student-athletes have been named to the 2012 NCBWA Division I Freshman All-America Team, as announced Monday morning.

Starting pitches Mike Compton of Florida State and Carlos Rodon of NC State earned first team honors, as did NC State third baseman Trea Turner. North Carolina starting pitcher Benton Moss, Virginia outfielder Derek Fisher and Virginia Tech catcher Mark Zagunis were named to the second team.

The 2012 NCBWA National Freshman Player of the Year and National Freshman Pitcher of the Year will be announced on Tuesday, June 12.
