ACC Postseason Notes ...

Two still standing
Florida State and NC State are the ACC's two representatives among the final 16 of the 2012 NCAA tournament field. FSU is appearing in postseason play for the 50th time, while NC State is making its 25th appearance.

Seven up for NCAAs
With seven ACC teams among this year's 64-team field for the 2012 NCAA Championship, the ACC has placed at least seven teams in postseason play for the fourth straight year and the seventh time in eight years.

Among the elite
Three ACC schools rank among the nation's top five in total NCAA Division I Baseball postseason appearances: Florida State (second with 50), Miami (third with 41) and Clemson (fifth with 37).

Eight is great
With four straight wins in last week's ACC Championship, Georgia Tech became the first No. 8 seeded team to capture the title. MVP Jake Davies did a bit of everything with four home runs, 11 RBI and six innings of solid work as a starting pitcher (two hits, one run allowed in Saturday's 5-1 win over Clemson).
