Florida State posted a league-best 24-6 record in ACC play to claim the top seed in the 2012 ACC Championship, which gets under way Wednesday in Greensboro, N.C. ... FSU is atop three of the four major polls ... All eight teams in this year’s ACC Championship field are ranked among the top 40 of the most recent NCAA RPI report ... FSU outfielder James Ramsey was named ACC Player of the Year ... NC State’s Carlos Rodon garnered Pitcher and Freshman of the Year accolades, becoming the first freshman to earn ACC Pitcher or Player of the Year honors ... FSU’s Mike Martin was named ACC Coach of the Year for the seventh time ... NC State outfielder Ryan Mathews earned Collegiate Baseball Player of the Week and ACC Player of the Week honors ... Georgia Tech’s Cole Pitts was named the season’s final ACC Pitcher of the Week ... Sunday’s ACC Championship game will be televised nationally by ESPN2 ... All other tournament games will be carried by RSN and ESPN3.

1 - Number of runs allowed in a career-long seven innings by Georgia Tech freshman Cole Pitts, who earned ACC Pitcher of the Week honors after defeating Miami on Saturday. The right-hander struck out five and allowed just two hits in the contest.

5 - Number of ACC teams ranked among the nation’s top 25.

7 - Number of consecutive weeks Florida State has been ranked No. 1 in the country by Baseball America. The Seminoles are also ranked first nationally by the USA Today/ESPN Coaches’ Poll and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

12 - Number of wins by Virginia in its last 14 games.

13 - Number of consecutive wins for North Carolina, which has not lost since April 24.

18 - Virginia Tech, one of 10 ACC teams ranked among the top 36 of the latest RPI report compiled by independent analyst Warren Nolan, closed the regular season with 18 consecutive wins vs. nonconference teams.

21 - Number of consecutive games in which NC State senior Ryan Mathews has tallied a hit. The ACC and Collegiate Baseball National Player of the Week, Mathews owns the conference’s longest active hitting streak. He hit four home runs and had nine RBIs in four games last week.

30 - Ten ACC teams have won at least 30 games this year. Top-ranked Florida State and North Carolina have both reached the 40-win mark.

67 - Number of runs scored by ACC Player of the Year James Ramsey, who led the league in runs, on-base percentage (.467) and slugging percentage (.538). The two-time first-team All-ACC selection has a .380 batting average with 10 doubles, six triples and 11 home runs.
