  • Top-ranked Virginia makes the trip to eighth-ranked Georgia Tech in a battle of Coastal Division leaders
  • North Carolina and Florida State, both ranked as high as seventh nationally, meet in Tallahassee
  • Duke plays host to Boston College, NC State visits Miami, Maryland travels to Clemson, and Virginia Tech plays at Wake Forest
  • Five ACC teams ranked among the top 13 of the first NCAA RPI report released Tuesday
  • With 1,162 career victories, Clemson coach Jack Leggett moved into 16th place on the NCAA Division I all-time wins list
  • Among those Leggett passed were his predecessor, Bill Wilhelm (1,161 wins), who passed away last December and will be honored prior to Clemson's home game vs. Maryland on Saturday

BY THE NUMBERS

.750 - Batting average compiled in three games last week by ACC Co-Player of the Week Rony Rodriguez of Miami, who keyed the Hurricanes to three straight wins, including a doubleheader sweep at Boston College.

3 - Three of ACC Co-Player of the Week Richie Shaffer of Clemson's seven hits last week went for extra bases, including a grand slam that fueled an 11-5 win over now No. 30 Georgia.

4 - Four ACC teams remain ranked among the top 10 of at least one major poll - No. 1 Virginia, No. 7 Florida State, No. 7 North Carolina and No. 8 Georgia Tech.

9 - Shutouts thrown by Virginia's pitching staff this season, including ACC Pitcher of the Week Will Roberts' perfect game effort vs. George Washington on March 29.

10 - Virginia Tech's Andrew Rash homered twice against top-ranked Virginia in last weekend's series and continues to lead the ACC in home runs with 10.

12 - NC State's Pratt Maynard has hit safely in 12 consecutive games, the longest active streak in the ACC at present.

25 - Consecutive wins on Sundays by Florida State, which has not dropped a Sunday game since losing to Virginia in the title game of the ACC Championship in Durham, N.C., on May 24, 2009.

27 - With 27 wins in 31 games, this year's North Carolina team has matched the 1983 squad for the best start in school history.

28 - With 28 wins in its fi rst 30 games, Virginia matched the fastest 30-game start in ACC history. The 2007 Florida State and 1977 and 1995 Clemson teams also got off to 28-2 starts to their seasons.
