Five ACC Baseball Teams Ranked In USA TODAY Coaches Poll

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Five Atlantic Coast Conference baseball teams are ranked among the Top 25 of the USA TODAY Sports preseason baseball coaches poll.

North Carolina leads the conference contingent with a No. 4 ranking, followed by Florida State at No. 9. NC State checks in at No. 11, while defending ACC champion Georgia Tech is at No. 21 and Virginia is tied for 25th.

Three other ACC teams – Clemson, Miami and Virginia Tech – were among the teams that received votes from the panel of coaches. Future ACC member Louisville tied Virginia for the 25th spot in the poll, while Notre Dame was among those receiving votes.

The 2013 season opens for all 12 ACC teams on Friday, Feb. 15. Conference weekend series begin on Friday, March 8.
