GREENSBORO, N.C. - Florida State's Amanda Winslow and NC State's Laura Hoer share this week's ACC Women's Cross Country Performer of the Week honors, while the Wolfpack's Ryan Hill earned Men's Cross Country Performer of the Week honors.
Winslow's individual performance keyed the second-ranked Seminoles to the team title in a 38-team Blue competition at the NCAA Cross Country Pre-Nationals, held Saturday in Terre Haute, Ind. The Lawrenceville, Ga., sophomore finished seventh overall with a new personal-best 6k time of 20:32.8.
Hoer and Hill posted impressive top-five finishes in the women's and men's races, respectively, to pace NC State at the NCAA Cross Country Pre-Nationals. Hoer led the Wolfpack to an eighth-place team finish in a 40-team White competition while Hill paced the men's team to fifth place in a 36-team White team race.
Hoer, a freshman from Arden, N.C., finished fourth, running the 6k course in 20:13.2 - 5.1 seconds off of the lead. Hill, a junior from Hickory, N.C., finished second individually, running the 8k course in 23:31.7 - 11.8 seconds off of the lead.
