Florida State's Seddon and North Carolina's Farber named ACC Cross Country Performers of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) - Florida State's Zak Seddon and North Carolina's Lianne Farber have been selected as the ACC Cross Country Performers of the Week following their competition this past weekend.

Seddon made his collegiate debut a memorable one, claiming the individual title and leading the 10th-ranked Seminoles to the team championship in Friday's Virginia Tech Invitational in Blacksburg, Va.  The Reading, Surrey, Great Britain, freshman covered the 8K course in 25:08.3, leading a dominant effort by the Seminoles, who clinched the team title with a 1-2-3 sweep of the top spots.

Farber took the first win of her collegiate cross country career at the adidas XC Challenge Friday in Cary, N.C. In a field that had three teams ranked in the top 10 of the Southeast Region, the Northpoint, N.Y., sophomore posted one of the top 5K times at the WakeMed Park finishing in 17:00.5. In her first race of the season, Farber set the pace early, running the first mile in 5:13 and finishing nearly 18 seconds ahead of her nearest competitor.
