GREENSBORO, N.C. – Headed by Florida State’s Michael Fout, eight All-Conference honorees secured spots on the 2011 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Men’s Cross Country Team as announced today by Commissioner John D. Swofford.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.
The 2011 ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year for Men’s Cross Country, Fout finished fourth at this year’s ACC Championships, completing the 8K course in 23:11 and keying the Seminoles to a second-place finish. A Psychology major, the La Porte, Ind., senior earned USTFCCCA All-American honors at the NCAA Championship meet where he finished 32nd in a 10k personal-best time of 29:59. Fout earned NCAA All-South Region honors on the strength of his runner-up finish as Florida State won the team title.
