GREENSBORO, N.C. – North Carolina’s Donte Nall took top honors in the high jump en route to being honored as the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Performer of the Week presented by Chevrolet. Miami’s Ti’erra Brown won the 100-meter hurdles and has been named the league’s Women’s Performer of the Week presented by Chevrolet.
Nall registered a first-place finish in the high jump Saturday at the Kent Taylor-Joe Hilton Carolina Invitational. The senior from Douglasville, Ga., registered a personal-best mark of 7-3.00. The leap currently ties him for seventh in the nation and ranks second in the conference.
Brown paced a field of 13 to take the top podium spot in the 100-meter hurdles Saturday at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational. Competing in the event for the first time since July, Brown raced to a time of 13.16, tying her for 12th nationally. The senior from Hampton, Va., also participated in the 400-meter dash, placing fourth among a field of professionals with a time of 54.53, currently good for second in the league.
The Tar Heels and Hurricanes return to action Thursday at the 2011 ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, held at Wallace Wade Stadium on the campus of Duke University in Durham, N.C.
