GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia Tech senior Keith Ricks and Clemson senior April Sinkler have been named the ACC Track & Field Performers of the Week, announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
Ricks set three school records – in the 100 meters, 200 meters, and as a member of the 4x100 meter relay – at the University of Central Florida Invitational Saturday. The Suffolk, Va., native set Hokie records of 10.22 in the 100 meters and 20.75 in the 200 meters, both marks that had stood for 13 years. His times in the 100 and 200 meters currently rank in the top 10 in the country. He also anchored the record-setting 4x100 meter relay that finished in 40.11.
Sinkler won both events she competed in at the UCF Invitational. The Stafford, Va., native won the long jump on Friday with a mark of 6.23 meters, besting a field of 29 competitors and ranking her fourth in the NCAA this season. On Saturday, she won the triple jump with a mark of 13.12 meters, the top distance in the country.
